Description
This is a very old technique, used as early as Roman cameo glass applications. This technique was taken up by the French and Bohemian Art Nouveau and in Venetian and Scandinavian glass from the beginning of the 1930s.
The craftsman picks up a small amount of glass with a blow pipe, slightly blows it (if he wants to produce a blown glass object), then immerses it in a crucible of different colours. He can repeat the operation and using transparent glass can obtain chromatic effects which are extremely evocative (flashing or dip-overlay method).
